The Equitouch Massage
Treatment Programs

A pre-event Equitouch Massage loosens, warms and readies the muscles for
the event.
A post-event Equitouch Massage relieves muscle
pain and stiffness by returning the muscles to a normal state much faster than
if they had been allowed to go without a massage. After vigorous exercise
dehydration takes place in the horse, and with the loss of fluids it is harder
for him to cool down.
An Equitouch Massage helps to keep the entire body in better physical
condition.
Plan A:
Recommended for horses at high levels of competition.
Week 1 Three massages
Week 2 Two massages
Week 3 One massage
Thereafter Once a week
Plan B:
Recommended for horses that compete on a regular basis. One massage every
two weeks.
Plan C:
For horses that compete occasionally:
One massage every two weeks for six weeks, then as needed.
Plan D:
For horses that are used for pleasure or very light competition:
Massage as needed.
Keep in mind that oftentimes a single treatment will be all that it takes to
free up muscles that are in spasm and return the horse to its' full working
capabilities. Many horses, however, benefit from regular "tune-ups" when they
are preparing for and performing in demanding sports or living with chronic
orthopedic problems
